4 Months

You are both growing so fast.  Last week I finally broke down and cut your tiny little toenails.  Your fingernails are a completely different matter.  If I don't cut them at least once a week you both could give the cats a run for the money.  Of course you will both do that later on when you start crawling.  For now you are getting used to tummy time and relishing the chance to sit up like adults on the couch.  Will, you like to list to the left and managed to slide into a face plant twice today.  Alex, you are so solid in your "core" right now that you managed to stay upright the whole time...well almost...

Those big blue eyes of yours are always following me around the house.  Your smile is contagious and frequent, which is something that I find completely charming first thing in the morning.  You are eating everything in sight and will babble away most of the day.  Conversation is your thing and if we are not talking back or paying attention you change your tone so that me know you mean business.  Earlier this week I caught you looking over at your brother (at least it seemed that way).  You are starting to like your baths even though you throw your arms up and hyperventilate when you first get wet.  We are looking forward to the bathtub days when we can really let you splash.

You are a pro at taking naps on your tummy.  I love how your tuck your legs up against your belly and keep your bottom up in the air.  Nobody can rush you when it's time to eat.  You take your time and will often trade smiles for swallows (once your overwhelming panic for food is in check).  When we made a stop for coffee yesterday you charmed a stranger with your shy smile. When you are safe in our arms you tend to quietly drink in the world around you. Your Daddy and I are anxiously awaiting your opinion on what you see.
