22 Months

-Will & Alex-

Life is still all about agua and being outside. It was not a surprise that the best combination of both, the ocean, completely rocked your world. There was no running towards waves and retreating for you. Your Daddy and I were the only things that stopped you from running straight into the sea without looking back.

On the flip side, the top three things that currently terrify you are...
  1. Elevators
  2. The Car Wash
  3. Goose During Meals
The first two are understandable but I do feel horrible for poor Goose. One minute you are chasing her in delight but as soon as she saunters over for a casual nibble on a piece of castoff cereal, you both launch into absolute hysterics. Food is serious and she apparently is a serious threat. Thankfully, every once in a while you come to your senses and invite her over for sample like the good 'ol days.

Speaking of food and furry creatures, your constant experiments with dipping various foods into liquids makes me wonder if you are turning into raccoons. Honestly, how many times do you have to dip a cracker into your wading pool before you figure out that it isn't any good to eat afterwards.

Your Daddy introduced you to the world of YouTube. Kitty videos, bloopers and car crashes are your favorite things to watch while you take turns sitting in his lap. We keep things lively around here and you two are always willing to play along.

William...

The little quick step/stomp/shuffle that you do when you are feeling feisty, excited, determined or like a ham makes me smile. I take complete advantage of your willingness to blow kisses and suggest you do it whenever the opportunity strikes...there are grandmas, cows, little girls, waitresses and UPS drivers out there that are having a better day because of your kisses.

You are now sophisticated enough to give real kisses as well and chose to do so when you managed to catch a few of the dogs you were chasing at the farmer's market the other day.

Words like "open" "help" and "button" are being used every day along with the ever important "brother". You take advantage of every opportunity to flip on the stove light, push the alarm clock buttons or turn on the bathroom fan timer.

Alexander...

Without fail, you wake up every morning and start pointing towards your next adventure like Lewis and Clark. Before you go to sleep, you love to jump in your crib like a caffeinated Tigger. You spend your day between these two times charming people with your smile and checking out everyone around you.

You are immediately worried when someone is sad, hurt or in any sort of distress. If there are older kiddos playing, you watch and always attempt to join in. When people are not around, you will gladly look for bugs and spiders or just dig in the sand.

Even though you are the first to wake up these days, you are the last one to finish your breakfast, lunch or dinner. You seem to savor your milk and enjoy your view of the world from the highchair.

Thank goodness for the highchairs. Every picture in this post was taken while you were strapped to a trusty chair. These days you two just can't sit still long enough for a photo. Never a dull moment!
Love you!
Mama & Daddy
