The Zoo Before Two

It's true, you almost didn't make it to the zoo before you turned two. Why did it take so long? Time flies and we just didn't make the proper space to fit it in.  Finally, we made it in early September (the 2nd ironically) and you both had a blast.

Nana and Papa met us there and the four of us chased, carried and corralled you for over four hours.

We started with the mountain goats...

You both loved all of the interactive signage and exhibits...

-Alex, Grizzly Bear, Black Bear & Will-

The birds were fun, but the bear really caught your attention...

-Will was pretty impressed with Mr. Bear-

Any area with water was an instant hit and the fish were definitely one of your top three favorites for the day...

Drumming was another favorite part of the day. You both still love music and couldn't believe your luck when you discovered the sounds that you could create in the Africa exhibit. You spent quite a bit of time banging and bobbing before you could be convinced to move on...

Alex, the big cats captivated you the most. Your mighty "rrraaawwwrr" made the tiger stop his pacing and look directly at you...

 -Alex & Mrs. Lion-

Will, you loved the giant porcupine the most. Seeing its long quills at eye level really made you excited...

We ate our post lunch snack with the elephants and dashed through the last few areas that we hadn't explored before heading home...

It was a wild ride and you loved every minute of it...

So Long Summer

Even though I love fall, it's still hard saying good bye to summer.  Random phone photos always say it best...
