Second Birthday Bash

We had so much fun at Oktoberfest in September, we decided to celebrate the boys' second birthday German style in early October...

We made sure to have plenty of goodies on hand to go with the beer, salads, and brats...

The boys skipped the goodies and chased sweet girls around the yard instead. Haven received her first kiss from Will, followed closely by a second kiss from Alex...

Kinsley was also kissed by each of the boys...

First Oktoberfest

The boys and I both experienced Oktoberfest at Mount Angel for the first time this year.  September 15th was well over a month ago and the glory and glow (goodbye sunshine) of the celebration has long since faded.  Despite all that, I can't help but share a few pictures from the day...

While Aaron was in a store buying steins, the "hayride" driver stopped and asked me if the boys wanted to test out the tractor, I kindly accepted...

Will was instantly enamored with every dog he spotted.  Peaches the Chihuahua was one of his new favorite friends...

The boys tested out the no-sew lederhosen that I made the night before (my skills with Velcro and hot glue are rather impressive).  After a day of walking, dancing and pretzel eating, I knew just what needed adjusting before Halloween...

Look Who Turned Two

It's true, you officially turned two yesterday. As you can clearly see, a lot has changed since last year.

You two had a wonderful time celebrating every minute of your second birthday.  There was singing, painting, dancing and birthday crowns at school.  When you got home there were balloons and banners on the porch.

You ate an entire box of Deluxe Annie's Mac 'n' Cheese (your favorite) before opening presents outside on the deck.  The gift bags, tissue paper and oodles of presents completely made your night...

There were adorable sweaters and handmade finger puppets...

The special package from Auntie Sheri, Uncle Andrew and Cousins Aiden and Liam was full of treasures...

After opening presents, we blew out birthday candles and enjoyed some cake before tubby time...

You both slept fairly well last night and didn't wake up until 4:00am this morning.  Once you realized that we were making you commit to another hour or so of sleep you took matters into your own hands...

We discovered that Will had escaped his crib and made a little nest out of bath towels and a quilt.  Way to embrace turning two buddy!
